Yebisu

Filed under:

The origins of "Yebisu Beer" date back to 1887, when Nippon Beer Brewery started producing beer in the area then called Mita Village. The name "Yebisu" was later adopted in slightly altered form to designate the station, and "Ebisu" has since become familiar to many as the name of the surrounding town Yebisu.

Sapporo Beer

Filed under:

Sapporo is Japan’s oldest beer brand, founded in 1876, which is interesting in that it shows how young Japan is as a beer brewing nation. The original brewery itself was a Bavarian-style beer factory (it is no longer in operation).
